The City of Charlottetown is excited to share that applications are now open for the 2026 Climate Action Microgrant Program! If your organization has a climate or sustainability idea that could benefit the community, we invite you to submit an application and help turn that idea into action. This program offers up to $2,500 per project to support local individuals and community organizations to deliver community‑based environment and sustainability projects in Charlottetown. About the Microgrants Climate Action Microgrants support projects that advance the goals of the City’s Climate Action Plan. To be eligible, projects must: Take place within Charlottetown Be completed by January 31, 2027 Align with at least one of the Climate Action Plan’s goals, themes, or actions.
Eligible applications will be reviewed by a selection committee based on creativity, project feasibility, community impact, and alignment with the Climate Action Plan goals. Since the program began in 2011, more than $215,000 has supported over 100 community sustainability projects and events in Charlottetown, ranging from a coffee pod recycling initiative to a backup power and emergency readiness program to an edible garden tour.
